Forget About Health?
By Samantha TaylorPresident and Founder of Pure Health Studios
Although that question seems absurd when you read it, isn't that what many people tend to do? We get so busy trying to balance life between our career and family, an unhealthy pattern can develop. This negative pattern consists of putting our health and fitness on the "back burner" of life. Often this habit puts our health at the bottom of priorities for the day. Health is the one thing you do not want to lose in life. If you lose your health, you will want it back because you will realize you have let a precious commodity slip through your hands. You have the ability to do something about it. You are a creative, powerful person who probably takes control in so many other areas of your life. Why not your health? I challenge you to take your health to the next level wherever you are starting from. It is a big mistake to allow the busyness of life to become so overwhelming that you don't eat well and exercise. If you are wealthy but don't have your health to enjoy it, what good will that do? Most people on their death bed say, "I wish I would have taken better care of my health and I wish I would have spent more time with my family."
A priority is something that has a level of importance placed upon it. When something is a priority, it is a main concern to us. Why do so many people sacrifice their health and not make it a priority? Here are a few main reasons:
- They were not taught by their family how to take care of themselves.
- They never learned as an adult how to be healthy.
- They do not have enough self respect to truly care about their health.
- They do not know how to manage time well with scheduling health and fitness into their life.
- They do not realize the level of importance that being healthy really has.
